A Little About Myself

Wooden and natural resources encourage creativity and imagination in young children. Most of the time, plastic toys can only be used for their purpose which can restrict children’s thinking skills. Natural items can help children to develop fine motor skills and express their thoughts and ideas as they manipulate and explore them.

By having wooden resources in a childcare setting, children can expand their imaginative play, encouraging them to think about how the equipment can be used or what they can represent rather than using the resource for what it looks like, due to its colour or pattern.

The outside environment is a big contribution to learning and development, allowing children to experience the world around them through natural resources. Allowing children to observe nature such as twigs and leaves that change throughout the seasons or insects and bugs offers children the opportunity to make comments and ask questions, gaining a deeper knowledge of their environment.

My name is Denisa . I am a fully qualified and registered Childminder in Holywell, Watford and I have ten years of experience in childcare working as a Preschool Teacher in Romania and Nursery Nurse in UK. I provide a warm, safe and natural environment in which each child is gently nurtured, empowered and given the opportunity to explore, to play, to investigate, to be curious, to solve problems and to discover answers for themselves through a rich mix of creative opportunities and experiences.

My additional qualifications are as follows:

- Qualified Teacher Status

- Bachelor Degree- Pedagogy of Preschool and Primary Education - University of Bucharest Romania

- CACHE LEVEL 3 Award in Preparing  To Work In Home Based Childcare

- First Aid Training

- Child Protection in Education

I attend regular training and workshops and these will be updated regularly.

I give all children in my care the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of their gender, race, culture, social background, religion, language or any disabilities. Sometimes this means adapting an activity to the child’s ability and stage of development, providing additional resources or giving one child more attention and support than others during a particular activity or routine.

Little Tribe  combines caring with education and follows the Early Years Foundation stage (EYFS) Curriculum.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children’s ‘school readiness’ and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.

The areas of learning are:

Communication and language

Physical development

Personal, social and emotional development

Literacy

Mathematics

Understanding the world

Expressive arts and design

Children will take part in many indoor and outdoor activities including sensory play, messy play, sand and water, growing seeds, insect investigation, making leaves pictures, creating fantasy worlds, cooking in the mud kitchen, and caring for the environment.

We are providing natural resources as much as possible. The majority of play equipment is made from wood. We also have a wide range of wooden toys.
